1-We only print Proximity Cards, not ID badges.  :

ID cards are printed in three different ways.
The first method is the traditional, old-fashioned way, which is done by printing the ID card design on 80-gram paper (regular printing paper), and then laminating it inside a transparent plastic cover using a heat machine.

However, this method is not good, as the printed ID card gets damaged quickly, and we often find that the edges start to peel or separate, causing the plastic cover to detach from the printed paper. In addition, the card is light in weight and thin in thickness.

As for the second method of ID card printing, it uses PVC sheets, which are thick plastic materials measured in a unit called micron.

In this method, printing is done on the transparent PVC sheet from the inner side — the front side of the ID is printed on one PVC sheet, and the back side of the ID card is printed on another.

After that, the inner filler layer is placed between the two PVC sheets, and then the set is inserted into a heat press to merge the three layers together. Afterward, the plastic cards are cut to size, ready for use.

One of the main advantages of this printing type is that it’s internal printing, which provides protection against external factors that could cause damage.

As for the third method, it is the direct printing method, in which printing is done directly on materials known as Proximity Cards, Magnetic Cards, and finally, PVC Cards.

In this method, the plastic cards are a single solid piece, whose thickness is also measured in microns, and printing is done directly on the front and back sides of the card.

However, this type of printing is more prone to damage over time, since the printing is external and has no protective layers against scratches or water.

We only produce plastic ID cards (Proximity ID Cards) using direct printing technology on cards that come either with or without serial numbers, depending on the available imported material.

These Proximity cards are used for employee attendance and departure registration systems, as well as for access control, such as opening hotel room doors, villas, and apartments.

2-Uses of ID Cards :

The plastic ID cards can be used for several purposes, including but not limited to the following: :

1. Attendance and access cards for employees in commercial companies and institutions.
2. Membership and subscription cards for various entities such as clubs, libraries, and entertainment venues.
3. Discount and loyalty cards used in retail stores, hypermarkets, and medical centers.
4. Identification cards for staff and management.
5. Visitor cards for guided tours, official visits, exhibitions, conferences, companies, and factories.

3-Types of Plastic Cards :

There are several different types of PVC cards, but the most commonly used ones in Egypt are as follows:

1- Proximity Cards:

Proximity cards are ID cards that contain an internal chip, with each chip having a unique, non-replicable code. This type of card is commonly used with employee attendance and access control systems, as well as in hotels where it functions as a key card for opening room doors.

2- PVC Cards :

PVC Cards are plain plastic cards without any embedded chips or coding. They are used solely for identification purposes, displaying the personal details of the individual wearing them.

3-Magnetic Cards :

Magnetic Cards are cards with a magnetic stripe on the back, similar to ATM cards issued by banks.

4-PVC Card Sizes :

The final card size after cutting is 8.6 cm × 5.4 cm, which differs from the design size, as an additional 2.5 mm bleed margin is added on each side to allow for trimming.

The actual dimensions of Proximity Cards and Fingerprint Cards are also 8.6 cm × 5.4 cm, but the design size should be 8.7 cm × 5.7 cm to account for cutting margins.
